2022 Realm Cellars, Fidelio Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley 6x75cl

Blend: 100% Sauvignon Blanc Production: 500 cases Realm Cellars' unerring dedication to perfection has seen their portfolio of Single-Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons reach true 'Napa First Growth'... status. From Beckstoffer Dr. Crane to Moonracer, they are some of the Valley's elite wines and as collectible as it gets. There is one Single-Vineyard wine at Realm Cellars that stands apart for being the rarest of them all (only 500 cases produced), and representing the Estate's only white cuvée - Realm Cellars Fidelio Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit is sourced from Realm's Farella Estate Vineyard in Coombsville. Winemaker Benoit Touquete used three different vessels (and materials) to age Fidelio – demi-muid neutral oak barrels, concrete eggs, and terracotta amphoras. Each vessel contributes to Fidelio’s unique layers, complexities, and depth. Benoit thinks the Fidelio 2022 has the freshness of Dagueneau and the richness of Château Mouton-Rothschild's Ygrec - the best of both worlds, and we thoroughly agree. It is a wine that captures perfectly the ethos of Realm – richness and freshness, at the same time.

2015 Soliste, L’Age D’Or Chardonnay, Russian River Valley 1x75cl

Blend: 100% Chardonnay Vintage production: 417 cases L’Age D’Or comes from a vineyard just north of Sebastopol adjacent to the Laguna de Santa Rosa, the largest tributary of the Russian River.... Originally planted in 1971, these are among the oldest Chardonnay vines in the Russian River Valley. The vineyard is immaculately and sustainably managed. Having white Burgundies as benchmarks, especially the wines of Raveneau, Jobard and Coche-Dury, Don and Claude were never to anxious to even attempt to craft Chardonnay in the new world as they had always felt that the wines were sometimes over the top with buttery pop corn mouth feel, way too much oak, high alcohol and clunky. Their success with Sauvignon Blanc, and especially with St. Andelain, convinced them to begin a three year commitment with a fabulous, well-established vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Their willingness to experiment with different vinification as well as aging for 16 months in 600L thick stave barrels (44% new) results in a Chardonnay of great elegance, length and verve; very Meursault-like.

2015 Soliste, L’Esperance Pinot Noir, Sonoma County 1x75cl

Blend: 100% Pinot Noir Vintage Production: 75 cases The fruit for L'Esperance come from Soliste's 'founding' Sonatera Vineyard. It is one of those unique vineyard sites that truly exemplifies the... Soliste philosophy and style. The hilltop site has three different exposures, north, south, and west. This geography funnels brisk marine winds over the vines reducing vigour, extending the ripening period of the grapes, and allowing distinctive aromatics to develop.

2019 The Mascot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 6x75cl

Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage production: 8,000 cases The Mascot offers a stunning expression of the Harlan Family's entire portfolio of world-class vineyards, in a truly exceptional... vintage. The fruit is hand selected and vinified from the younger vines at Harlan Estate, BOND and Promontory, making The Mascot a sensational glimpse into three of the most revered Estates in the World. The Mascot began as a personal project by Will Harlan, who persuaded his family to allow him to select barrels of the 'Grand Cru' estates so he could create a wine to share at his own table. The Harlan winemaking team took some convincing at first, but eventually Cory Empting and his crew began to set aside certain barrels an annual basis to produce a special wine, according to Will’s selection.   This intimate bottling has a deliberate identity all of its own, its terroir lying not only in the origins of the fruit, which already has eyepopping pedigree, but also in the careful selection of barrels made by Will, Cory and the Mascot team. Blended with the same level of precision as the 'Grand Vins', The Mascot is a classic Napa Valley Cabernet expression, giving huge pleasure on release, while built to last.

2020 Heimark Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 3x75cl

Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage production: 136 cases From the multi-awarding winning winemaker, to an iconic vineyard manager behind some of the most famous names in Napa, and a terroir... cherished for over 25 years by some of the Valley's legendary Estates, there is so much to get excited about in the Heimark 2019. The team at Heimark is something of a dream line-up. Françoise Pechson was crowned Winemaker of The Year 2019 by The San Francisco Chronicle, and again as Antonio Galloni's Winemaker of The Year 2021. Her CV includes working with Jean Delmas at Château Haut Brion, and 20 years as winemaker for the legendary Araujo Estate. In addition to her primary position at Heimark, Françoise is also the winemaker for Vine Hill Ranch (VHR) and Accendo Cellars. It's little wonder Galloni called her "One of the most influential and highly respected winemakers in Napa Valley." Then there's the vineyard itself, described by legendary winemaker Phlippe Melka as "The Pauillac of Napa Valley." It was planted in 1997 by Harlan Estate's own Mary Hall Mayer, and is managed by Michael Wolf - the man behind Scarecrow, To Kalon, and VHR. It has been a prized source of fruit for some of Napa's most iconic wines since 1997, leading up to the Heimark Family releasing their own label in 2016. Many of the great Araujo Estate Cabs were composed primarily of Heimark fruit, as has the multiple 100-point Lail Vineyards' J.Daniel Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon (made by Melka) since 2008. Arkenstone Estate also produce a remarkable single-vineyard Cabernet from this awesome site. A critically acclaimed winemaker; the dream vineyard team; a site revered by Napa's top Estates; critical acclaim... This Cabernet Sauvignon commands a place in every cellar and collection. Four Corners Wine: "The Heimark 2020 kicks off with gorgeous aromatics of dark fruit, fresh rosemary, a very stony minerality, with great concentration and a nice edge of hot charcoal smoke. The palate is fantastic, the energy is incredible, with impeccable tannins adding to and elegant and bright core. There's a wonderful intensity to this delicious Cabernet, with lots compelling ferrous notes and hints of dried savoury herbs on the long finish. A classic expression of this great vineyard."

2021 Saxum, James Berry Vineyard White, Paso Robles 1x75cl

Blend: 44% Grenache Blanc, 29% Roussanne, 20% Chenin Blanc, 7% Chardonnay Vintage production: 347 cases The James Berry White stands as Saxum’s rarest cuvée and has garnered a cult-flowing among... Saxum aficionados. For us, the Grenache Blanc in Paso Robles is the best in the world, so it goes without saying that Justin’s is going to sit at the top of the tree! Always and eclectic blend, this is a rich and deep wine that shimmers with energy throughout. NOTES FROM WINEMAKER JUSTIN SMITH: “I like to think that we are getting better and better at making this wine, or maybe our Grenache Blanc vines are producing better and better fruit, or maybe its just that ’21 was an exceptional year for whites. Whatever the reasons, I’m really enjoying our one and only white. (News flash, we have planted a couple small blocks of whites up at our new York Mountain planting, but that is 6 years away from any release.) If you have enjoyed our past whites I think you will like this one even better. Brought up in huge 600L demi-muid barrels, with 4 of the 6 being new, it spent a full 22 months on its lees before racking clean and bottling. It is full and rich, yet bright and lively. The magical combo I always look for in a white…actually in any wine really.”

2017 Haliotide, Stolo Vineyard Blanc de Blancs Late Disgorged, San Luis Obispo Coast 1x75cl

Blend: 100% Chardonnay Vintage production: 40 cases Disgorged: February 2024 When we heard about a Sparkling Wine producer from the very edges of the San Luis Obispo coastline, we just had to find... out. We met owners Nicole and Lucas at their boutique winery in the gorgeous hills just south of Paso. Nicole's winemaking experience of working at cooler-climate coastal sites, and Lucas's knowledge as one of Paso's most in-demand vineyard managers, makes them the dream team. Inspired by the great cuvées of Champagne, they adopted more of a 'Grower Champagne' approach by focusing on two exceptional vineyards (Stolo and Topotero) just a couple of miles from the ocean. This bracing environment produces Chardonnay and Pinot Noir full of tension and acidity, but it's the California sunshine that gives them an extra dimension. Nicole and Lucas make three cuvées: the Extra-Brut Rosé, made from 100% Pinot Noir from Topotero and given 30 months tirage; a razor-sharp Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay from Stolo) that sees 4 years on its lees; and a beautifully-textured BdB Late-Disgorgement that sees around 6.5 years tirage. All wines are barrel-fermented, and the results are pure class. For us, they would sit admirably alongside some of the world's top Fizz, but it's more telling that every winemaker we spoke with was on Haliotide's allocation list (waiting list, for a few!), and ranked the wines as the best Sparkling Wines of North America. With just a couple of hundred cases made, there's only one course-of action: reserve some bottles now and find out for yourself why the hype is more than justified!

2021 Amuse Bouche, Red Blend, Napa Valley 6x75cl

Blend: 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc Vintage production: 600 cases Legendary winemaker Heidi Barrett and vintner John Schwartz started Amuse Bouche in 2002, taking inspiration from their shared... love of the great Châteaux of Pomerol to produce a Napa Merlot of elegance, poise and refinement that would deliver in spades at release while retaining great cellaring potential. The fruit comes from the secretive Amuse Bouche vineyards, hidden in the foothills of the Vaca Mountains above Napa's Rutherford AVA. They have the perfect combination of clay, gravel and volcanic soils, giving the Amuse Bouche its unmistakable complexity and structure. Four Corners Wine: "The concentrated, guarded and highly exciting aromatics here promise wonders and delights to come, with underlying layers of delicate milk chocolate and a dusting of cocoa adding to the intrigue. It's closed at this early stage, but there's going to be a lot to enjoy with a bit of time in bottle. The palate is led by a gorgeous texture with supple and refined tannins and a bright, lifted and joyous energy. The fruit is crisp, crunchy, beautifully defined and extremely moreish. This elegant, feminine Merlot is a thing of beauty and while it's early days, there's boundless promised of great things to come." (Sep. 2023)

2019 LEVY & McCLELLAN, LEVY & McCLELLAN Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 3x75cl

Blend: c.80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot Production: c.150 cases Crafted by Bob with his wife Martha McClellan (winemaker at SLOAN ESTATE) at their family... Estate, LEVY & McCLELLAN is one of Napa's A-list 'closed-door' wineries, producing ultra-rare wines (just 375 cases annually) exclusively available and winery-direct from Four Corners Wine in the UK. The duo produces two stunning cuvées from their Estate vineyard located high above Calistoga, both based around a core of Cabernet Sauvignon. The LEVY & McCLELLAN is their flagship cuvée. They have an almost almost obsessive focus in the vineyard and winery, with each small lot managed individually, ensuring gentle extraction and barrel fermentation for extremely high-quality, refined tannins. They are one of the only wineries to ferment solely in 225L French oak barrels, using a labour-intensive method of placing each one on rollers to rotate it and gently mix the grapes with the fermenting juice. This process is customised for each individual lot and means it takes 3 to 4 barrels during fermentation to fill just one barrel for the aging of the wine.

2016 Soliste, Forêt Pinot Noir, Sonoma County 1x75cl

Blend: 100% Pinot Noir Vintage Production: 193 cases Forêt comes from a magnificent secluded vineyard near Occidental. The hillside vineyard has a northeastern exposure, a very steep slope, and is... in the middle of a spectacular redwood forest. Just 6 miles from the Pacific Ocean on the western coastal range, is perhaps the most visually stunning vineyard which Soliste uses – the depth of aromatics and spice in Forêt are a pure reflection of this unique vineyard’s site, slope, climate, and clone. Don Plumley & Claude Koeberle: "Deep hues of dark plums, cassis, boysenberries with brilliant amethyst gemstone, showing specs of skin pulp and minerals, which denotes whole cluster press extraction. Forêt’s alluring nose is a complex bouquet of blackcurrants, graphite mineral, black pepper, plums, Bing cherries, interlaced redwood pine needles. As the wines open up, profound aromas of dark fruit compote, licorice, spiked with Alpine forest smells, burnt orange peel, elevate the wine to an Amaro like infusion. Decanting is a must for this wine to appreciate all of its subtilities. The front palate is exceptionally voluptuous and textural, with pure concentration of blackberries, dark cherries, boysenberries, and candied violets, all lifted by dried herbal and evergreen forest. The mid-palate possesses an immensely concentrated core of dark fruit compote, framed by the rich structuring tannins created by our commitment to the whole cluster press. As the wine opens up, the luscious, exotic dark fruit elixir is layered with pulpy tannins adding earthy tones, gaminess, exotic spices, mint, and black pepper, all in perfect harmony. The finish is impressive in its length, focus and complexity. The whole clusters are definitely present, chewy, grippy, pulling the richness of the fruit into an aristocratic elegance. Bright acidity of red tart cherries, cranberry, and violet, infused with wet stone minerals lift the mid-palate fruit density, elongating the wine into a perpetual finish."

2015 Scherrer, Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley 1x75cl

Blend: 100% Chardonnay Production: 796 cases While grown primarily in the sandy Goldridge soil, which tends to produce Pinot Noir with flavours of red fruits and orange peel, this wine also... illustrates some of the deep, brooding black cherry character generally found in the region’s clay soils. It was bottled without fining or filtration, and will age gracefully for many years. Four Corners Wine: "Pure Russian River Valley - lovely dark, earthy, black-fruit aromatics, with a touch of scorched earth, bags of depth, framed by a touch of white pepper and anise. The palate has a great intensity, so juicy and crisp, very classic RRV-style, lots of crisp red berries - especially wild strawberry. Simply delicious, and plenty to come."
