2021 Aperture, Chenin Blanc, Alexander Valley 12x75cl

RP94
Blend: 100% Chenin Blanc Production: 3,294 cases Aperture's Chenin Blanc is a vibrant and bright wine, coming from old vines planted in the 1940’s. It is a product of its rich clay loam soils and... colder, brisk nights that are made possible by the Delta Breeze coming in off the San Pablo Bay. The 2021 Chenin Blanc fruit was night-harvested from the cool Clarksberg AVA on the Sacramento River. Jesse incorporated 80% stainless-steel barrels and 20% neutral French oak barrels for the 2021 vintage. Once it was transferred to barrel, the wine was placed in the cold barrel room to keep the fermentation cool and slow, maintaining freshness and bright aromatics. As the wine slowly fermented for an additional 3 weeks in barrel, Jesse topped and stirred each barrel weekly. The wine stayed in those same barrels for 6 months before bottling.

2018 Mauritson Wines, Loam Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County 1x75cl

RP94
Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Production: 170 cases Mauritson's vision for LOAM is simple: to produce exceptional Cabernet Sauvignons in Sonoma County by cultivating exemplary vineyards defined by... their soil. All wines in the LOAM series are 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, 100% identical clone and rootstock - but embody the single variable of the soil in which they were grown. LOAM Cabernet Sauvignon is Mauritson's proprietary blend of grapes sourced from vineyards planted in Positas, Suther, and Clough soils. It is composed of the best vineyards, grown in the best soil, from the best appellations. Perfectly structured, LOAM balances the brightness and focused tannins of hillside fruit with the dense, rich characteristics of fruit grown in the ancient riverbed and valley floor soils. Four Corners Wine: "A real 'WOW' Cabernet! Rich and intense on the nose with bags of grilled herbs meat juices, an almost compote/red wine jus note, a touch of caramelised mushroom, and a core of pure blackcurrant. On the palate it's extremely refined, youthful, and pure, with a juicy core boasting great depth and texture. It's an intense Cabernet, hugely appealing and distinct in its character. Stunning now, easier 15+ years of cellaring potential too." (Dec. 2022)

Blend: 100% Pinot Noir Vintage Production: 550 cases One of the producers at the forefront of Sta. Rita's Hills' success is Dragonette Cellars. Spear is know for its sandy loam soils, producing red fruited wines with fresh herbs. Fiddlestix is composed of shale, sandy and clay loam soils, with some chert. Wines from here are rich, high-pitched, spicy, and complex. Duvarita produces tiny yields of fresh, elegant, savory wines with herbs. La Rinconada is a rock-filled, north facing slope. It add pretty, middle weight fruit and good structure.
