Description

Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage production: n/a

From a great valley floor site in Oakville that lies just south of Beckstoffer To Kalon, this wine shows a deep and profound purple colour. Notes of lively blue fruits, allspice, graphite and toasty oak all leap from the glass. An opulent and full-bodied wine, it shows ideal balance on the palate – a mixture of great fruit, rounded tannins and natural acidity that results in a lengthy finish with a savoury quality.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

Jeb Dunnuck 97+

From a valley floor site that never seems to get the recognition it deserves, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper Vineyard is all varietal and reveals a dense purple hue to go with awesome aromatics of ripe black and blue fruits, smoke tobacco, graphite, darker chocolate, and damp earth. These carry to a full-bodied, deep, concentrated 2021 delivering remarkable purity, a layered, rich, mouth-filling texture, ample tannins, and a great finish. It shows the structured, powerful style of the vintage and actually reminds me a great vintage of La Mission Haut-Brion. It needs to be forgotten for 4-5 years and is going to push the upper limits of the scale at maturity. [06/06/2023]

2018 Vangone, Block D Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 12x75cl

JD97RP97
Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage Production: 100 cases Every aspect of Vangone Estate is about adventure, discovery and exclusivity. From the precarious drive up through hidden backroads, to... the breathtaking view that awaits you when you arrive (see picture above), to the luxurious micro-production Cabernet Sauvignons produced here, Vangone is the ultimate insider's secret. Stylistically, Vangone is a phenomenal expression of Cabernet Sauvignon: rich and hedonistic, while refined and textured in equal measure. Proprietor Mark Davidowski and winemaker Sam Kaplan (Arkenstone Estate, Maxem, Momento Mori) produce a unique trio of wines: 100 cases each of two individual vineyard parcels, Block B and Block D, as well as masterfully combining them into the Estate Cabernet (250 cases). Block D faces Atlas Peak to the east, on an incredibly steep part of the vineyard. This Cabernet is characteristic for its fruit-driven nose and incredibly powerful, structured core.

2021 Vineyard 36, Five Bands Cabernet Sauvignon, Oakville 12x75cl

WI97
Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon The Five Bands is the team's selection of best barrels from across their vineyards, celebrated with a striking label that plays tribute to the NHL's ultimate prize:... the Stanley Cup. The four vineyards that make up this stunning wine are Beckstoffer Georges III in Rutherford, and Renteria 360, Rivett, and Oakville Ranch Vineyards in Oakville. Winemaker Keith Emerson: "Enticing aromas of violets, cocoa, blue and black fruits, with hints of anise. Enters full and rich with blackberry flavors and layers of mocha, graphite and tar. Remains opulent and concentrated throughout with supple tannins and a drawn out finish. Stunning wine and my favorite of the vintage." Blend: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Four Corners Wine “This is a fantastic Cabernet from the word go, with an amazing depth of aromatics and a delicate perfumed note framing the super-dense core with more of that briary fruit and sweet east-Asian spices, punctuated with a flicker of balsamic reduction. The palate is pure refinement, with amazing balance of intensity and elegance, sumptuous tannins, great energy and tension. This is seriously good Cabernet Sauvignon with the same super-contemporary feel and attention to details that shines across the Vineyard 36 portfolio. The Five Bands feels like the team’s love letter to Napa Cabernet and it’s a wine of immense class.”
