This is the third vintage crafted by Maya Dalla Valle and Axel Heinz, and for us it’s the most expressive, tantalising release to date.
There’s a palpable energy to the 2020, driven by the three exceptional vineyards hand-picked by this dynamic duo: Vine Hill Ranch in the southwest corner of Oakville brings intensity and depth; Oakville Ranch in the foothills of the Vaca Mountains in eastern Oakville lends structure and concentration; Farella in cool-climate Coombsville adds elegance and finesse.
This is a DVO that was hard to put down when we tried it with Maya last Autumn (2023), and it has everything in place to cruise along beautifully for another 15+ years with ease.
