The Cabernet Sauvignons of Vice Versa have become a UK phenomenon, selling out in just a few days at release each year. That made the announcement of a brand-new wine from proprietors Patrice and Samantha Breton all the more exciting – the Vice Versa Spinning Plates Cabernet Sauvignon 2019.
This inaugural release is wrapped in a stunning new label that was specially commissioned by owner Patrice Breton, adding to Vice Versa’s striking blend of art and wine. Napa Cabs of this pedigree for under £150 are like gold dust. Patrice’s characteristic, hyper-refined style has garnered multiple 100-point scores to date, and Spinning Plates 2019 is an essential for the vintage.
Spinning Plates is a masterful blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from two exceptional sites: True Dog Vineyard is in southwest Oakville, bordering Vine Hill Ranch and overlooked by Harlan Estate. Sleeping Lady Vineyard is one of the most sought after sites among Napa’s top winemakers, and sits against the Mayacamas Mountains in the far southwest of Yountville. A dash of Cabernet Franc comes from the prized vines of the Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard.
Four Corners Wine:
“Gorgeous aromatics with masses of depth, loads of rich blackcurrant, fresh and compot, so many layers, really intense and refined in equal measure, some top notes of crushed fresh mint – a delicious nose. On the palate – wow! Stunning depth and a huge frame with lush tannins and a gorgeous texture, fantastic energy with a peppery acidity framing beautiful fruit. A modern day Napa classic. Drinking now-2038+.” (Dec. 2022)
