Description

Case contains 1x75cl each: Le Désir 2019, La Joie 2019, and La Muse 2019

With scores of 100/99/99 points from The Wine Advocate, and 100/100/98+ from The Wine Independent, the 2019s are three sensational wines that offer a remarkable vinous journey through Sonoma’s greatest terroir.

Founded and developed by pioneer vintner Jess Jackson, the goal of Vérité was to focus on exploring the identity of eastern-Sonoma’s hillside vineyards through combining expectational sites across to showcase terroir and vintage characteristics to the highest standard.

Jackson’s first-choice to head the project renowned St. Emilion winemaker Pierre Seillan, who arrived for the first vintage in 1998. They both took inspiration from the most famous Châteaux of Pomerol to craft a distinctly ‘Sonoma’ Merlot that could stand proudly aside it’s French cousins – La Muse. It was such a resounding success and led them to explore more micro ‘Grand Crus’ along the mountainous eastern portion of Sonoma. They soon developed a Cabaret Sauvignon based cuvée that was a dead ringer for the greats of Pauillac – La Joie – and a Cabernet Franc led blend inspired by the modern classics of St. Emilion – Le Désir.

Now, with significant input from Pierre’s daughter, the uber-talented Hélène Seillan, the 2019s have transcended any comparison to Bordeaux to stand among the most exceptional and striking examples of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot in Northern California.

Robert Parker 100/99/99

The 2019 Le Desir (100pts) is an exceptional blend of 83% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot, 5% Malbec and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, offering complex, layered flavors, soaring aromatics and very detailed expression. Deep ruby-purple in color, its aromas unfold slowly and offer new nuances with each return to the glass: Morello cherries, warm chocolate, dried thyme, desiccated roses and dried herbs. The full-bodied palate offers concentrated, floral fruits, pixelated tannins, bursts of fresh acidity and a very long finish with layer after layer of detailed flavor. 2,500 cases were made. The 2019 La Joie (99pts) is an elegant expression that offers power, freshness and expressive, floral character. A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, it has a deep ruby color and opens slowly from black cherries and blueberries to accents of violets, ground coffee and licorice. The full-bodied palate has generous, grainy tannins, detailed, perfumed flavors and bright acidity, finishing with an alluring iron character. 2,500 cases were made. The 2019 La Muse (99pts) is a blend of 90% Merlot, 5% Cab Franc and 5% Malbec. Deep ruby-purple, it explodes with cassis, violets and aniseed, with wafts of thyme, tobacco and iron, offering new nuances with each return to the glass. The full-bodied palate is powerful and refined, with loads of rounded tannins, focused freshness and ethereal character. It’s exceptionally expressive and structured and should be very long lived in the cellar. [14/07/2022]

The Wine Independent 100/100/98

The 2019 Le Desir (100pts) is a blend of 83% Cabernet Franc, 8% Merlot, 5% Malbec, and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it skyrockets from the glass with notes of Morello cherries, black raspberries, and wild blueberries, plus hints of lavender, wild sage, crushed rocks, and pencil shavings, with a touch of red roses. Medium-bodied, the palate is ethereal, so amazingly elegant yet remarkably intense, delivering super fine-grained tannins and beautiful freshness, leading to a long and fragrant finish for this gorgeous wine. 2,500 cases were made. A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot, the 2019 La Joie (100pts) is deep garnet-purple in color. It has a wonderfully flashy and flamboyant nose of blackcurrant cordial, redcurrant jelly, plum preserves, and potpourri with hints of chocolate mint, tilled soil, chalk dust, and forest floor. The medium to full-bodied palate is very taut and muscular with tons of bright, crunchy black fruits and wonderful tension, finishing with tons of earthy nuances. 2,500 cases were made. The 2019 La Muse (98+pts) is a blend of 90% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Malbec. Deep garnet-purple in color, it skips out of the glass with bright scents of freshly crushed black and red plums, boysenberries, and Morello cherries, plus hints of garrigue, cedar chest, wet slate, and truffles plus a waft of crushed rocks. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is super intense and firm with a solid wall of ripe tannins and compelling freshness holding up a ton of expressive earth and black fruit layers, finishing with epic length. 2,500 cases were made. 2007 Cliff Lede, Cabernet Sauvignon, Stags Leap District 1x300cl

RP93
Blend: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 7% Malbec, 4% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot Vintage production: 5,147 cases Cliff Lede's iconic Cabernet is the essence of the Estate's Stags Leap... District terroir in a glass. The fruit is sourced from the hillside terraces of the 'Grand Cru' Poetry Vineyard, the Twin Peaks Vineyard estate surrounding the winery, and a few neighbouring vineyards in the Stags Leap District. The wine is composed of small lots from the best blocks, representing a diverse range of carefully selected clones and rootstocks. From Poetry’s exposed, rocky terraces boasting volcanic origins, to the ancient riverbed alluvial soils of Twin Peaks, the breadth of contributing sites translates into a wine of impressive complexity and longevity.

2019 Dana Estates, Lotus Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley 3x75cl

JD100VM100
Blend: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot Vintage production: 372 cases Hailed by Robert Parker as “Their First Growth Terroir”, Lotus is situated at the northern reaches of Howell... Mountain, and presents the challenge of farming slopes ranging from 35° to 40°, at an elevation of 365 metres above sea level. Given these extreme aspects, the farming here is all painstakingly performed by hand. The entirety of the vineyard is planted on core stone bedrock and is 95% dry-farmed. The bedrock just beneath the surface causes the vines' roots to struggle in the search for water below, resulting in a Cabernet that is compelling for its power, intensity, vibrancy, and tension.
