Since its debut with the 2004 vintage, ASTERISK Proprietary Red represents an alternate, elegant and compelling expression of the terroir. Charming and bold, it is made from mostly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Produced under the same obsessive attention to detail and unyielding standards as SLOAN, ASTERISK is driven and intense, offering an explosion of complex aromas and flavours. While it holds the promise of aging potential, it’s almost impossible to resist from release.

Tasting like a mini-version of the Grand Vin from this great estate, the 2019 Asterisk boasts a saturated purple/plum hue as well as a killer bouquet of plums, blackberries, iron, leafy tobacco, and loamy earth. I always find a certain bloody character in the wines of this estate, and this ripe, layered, medium to full-bodied wine has silky tannins, fabulous balance, and a great finish. [16/02/2023]

UK Deliveries

Deliveries are made through London City Bond.

We deliver Monday-Friday and charges are £16 ex-VAT for the majority of UK postcodes (Highlands and Islands will incur additional charges).

We can also offer next-day delivery for central London addresses if an order is placed before 12:00 the previous day, and also offer same day deliveries at an additional charge.

Storage and Transfer fees

We can also arrange deliveries to other storage accounts. Prices vary from £12 ex-VAT (within the London City Bond warehouses) to £16 ex-VAT for delivery to all other storage providers (likes of Octavian).

Storage

Wines are stored at London City Bond, Creek Road in Barking. All wines are professionally stored under ideal conditions and insured to their full market value. Our current storage fee is £10.50 ex-VAT per 12 bottle case or equivalent per year.

Mountains. ?The Paradise Hills Vineyard is carved on steep hillsides just above the famed Dominus Estate Napanook parcel that was originally planted in 1838 by Yountville’s founder, George C. Yount. With an ideal eastern exposure, the land is bathed with morning sun and benefits from natural shade in the hot afternoons, and cool breezes from the San Pablo Bay flow constantly across the land. It's located on three volcanic knolls where soil profiles vary from deeply fractured rocks and volcanic ash, to thick clay deposits, meaning each parcel is distinguished by a unique subsoil and microclimate. At just 6.5 hectares in size it's a remarkably small site, yet the incredible complexity of the terroir allows for three distinct wines, each of a singular style. This is an Estate at the top of its game. Combined with the very talented winemaker Graeme MacDonald and owner Claude Blankiet's attention to detail, is truly worthy of an exploration.
