The 2019 Chardonnay Lancel Creek Vineyard has soft aromas of white peach, quince, chamomile, roasted almonds and meringue. The medium-bodied palate surprises with its generous, creamy fruit and expansive, savory flavors. It has a silky, seamless frame and gains intensity on the long finish. It unfolds slowly as it spends time in the glass and will benefit from a few years in bottle or some time in a decanter.

Deliveries are made through London City Bond.
We deliver Monday-Friday and charges are £16 ex-VAT for the majority of UK postcodes (Highlands and Islands will incur additional charges).
We can also offer next-day delivery for central London addresses if an order is placed before 12:00 the previous day, and also offer same day deliveries at an additional charge.
Storage and Transfer fees
We can also arrange deliveries to other storage accounts. Prices vary from £12 ex-VAT (within the London City Bond warehouses) to £16 ex-VAT for delivery to all other storage providers (likes of Octavian).

Storage
Wines are stored at London City Bond, Creek Road in Barking. All wines are professionally stored under ideal conditions and insured to their full market value. Our current storage fee is £10.50 ex-VAT per 12 bottle case or equivalent per year.

Larry Hyde is the King of Chardonnay growers in California. His fruit is hand-selected by the very best producers for their single vineyard... bottlings: Mark Aubert, Steve Kistler, David Ramey and Aubert de Villaine (Hyde de Villaine & Domaine de La Romanée Conti), to name just a few.
In 1979, Larry planted the legendary Hyde Vineyard in Los Carneros, Napa's coolest-climate, and quickly built his reputation as one of the finest growers in California. A Chardonnay with 'Hyde Vineyard' on the label is of an assured 'Grand Cru' level, yet the story gets even more compelling.
In 2005, Larry took the leap from grower to winemaker and planted his family's new Estate Vineyard, described by Mark Aubert as “Where Burgundy meets California” – a brilliant summation of the Larry Hyde 'Hyde Vineyard Estate' Chardonnay produced from this remarkable site.
Such is the tiny production, there's rarely a chance to experience what it's like once the wine has flexed its muscles with some proper bottle age. We have a line-up of the first three vintages produced (2012-2014), all sourced directly from the Estate where they've been perfectly cellared since bottling.

"On the nose, ripe apple, pear, and Meyer lemon lead into fresh tropical fruit before settling against the warmth of vanilla and nutmeg baking spice. Medium rich and balanced, the palate jumps with bright acidity from the cooler Carneros climate yet carries the concentrated orchard fruit from old vines."

A single-vineyard Chardonnay from one of the hottest producers on the West Coast... Only 251 cases produced... Scores of 96+ WA and 96 JD...... This already sounds like a serious prospect, and with an incredible price the Peake Ranch Sierra Madre Vineyard Chardonnay 2019 is an unbelievable buy.
Winemaker Wynn Solomon has produced a wine that showcases the pedigree of this vineyard in northern Santa Barbara County, and why Peake Ranch is held in the very highest regard.
The Wine Advocate's Erin Brooks picked up on the Sierra Madre 2019s "Tangy acidity and shimmery mineral character", which is textbook for the vineyard. The cold Pacific breezes and fog drawn inland from the nearby coast, and terroir dominated by chalky/sandy ancient seabed, come together gloriously.
Jeb Dunnuck talked about how it is "Delivering California fruit in a Burgundian style" (i.e. richness and bags of tension), yet a Chardonnay of the same class from the Côte d'Or would be double the price if not more.
The Sierra Madre 2019 is a tremendous wine to savour now and anytime over the coming 10 years.
