Tasting Notes
Vinous 96
A vertical, soaring wine, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon (Mount Veeder) speaks with commanding authority. Red-fleshed fruit, blood orange, dried herbs, mint, iron and savory herbs build into a crescendo of aromas, flavors and texture. The Mount Veeder Cabernet is wonderfully vivid and so expressive.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Mount Veeder showed brilliantly, with a dense purple color as well as killer notes of blueberries, pine forest, violets, graphite, crushed stone, and lead pencil. These all carry to a medium to full-bodied, structured wine that displays the vintage’s purity and freshness, building tannins, and a great finish. There’s plenty of classic Mt Veeder structure, so give bottles 4-5 years if you can. It’s going to evolve for 25+ years.
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2052

#21 TOP CELLAR SELECTIONS 2021: This red is youthful, wound-up and full of tension. Plush, polished tannins add to a weighty mouthfeel filled with deep flavors of cassis and blood orange, with seasonings of sage, herbes de Provence and black and white pepper. A showcase of sophisticated complexity, it will do well in the cellar.
