While the individual cuvées focus on Cabernet Sauvignon, OV|SL is a leader in the modern ‘Napa Blend’ of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, placing it alongside huge names like Bevan Cellars EE Red Wine, and Dalla Valle Maya.

James Suckling 98

Very cool with conifer, mushroom, chili, currant and pine-needle aromas. Full bodied with saturated tannins that just fill the mouth. Gorgeous length and depth. It builds nicely on the palate. The quality of the tannins is beautiful. 66% cabernet sauvignon, 17% cabernet franc, 14% merlot and 3% petit verdot. Unfined and unfiltered. Fabulous to try now, but will be even greater in 2025. Always a co-ferment of two sites, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon OV|SL reveals a dense purple hue as well as gorgeous creme de cassis, graphite, wildflowers, crushed stone-like minerality, and new leather-like aromatics. These carry to a full-bodied, concentrated, powerful 2018 that has the vintage’s more reserved, focused mouthfeel, building tannins, and a great finish. This beautiful, impeccably balanced 2018 needs 3-5 years of bottle age and will keep for 30+. [Jeb Dunnuck, 27/01/2021]

We deliver Monday-Friday and charges are £16 ex-VAT for the majority of UK postcodes (Highlands and Islands will incur additional charges).

Storage and Transfer fees

At its core are co-fermentations of fruit from these hillsides that Jason believes are perfect foils for one another. Oakville is imposing and impressive with its broad-shouldered stature, while Stags Leap is a timeless beauty with classic proportions. This wine is proof that 1+1 can equal 3. The wine perfectly captures both, the vintage and the synergy between the two sites. Rose hip, black cherry, and sweet savoury aromas point to the natural richness of the year in its amped up expression. On the palate, chiselled cassis, raspberry and violet flavours pulse with energy, onto a layered graphitic infused bed of fine tannin. Even with all of its aromatic and flavour explosiveness, there is a level of translucence and energy that elevate the wine.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon claimed to joint-2nd highest score in the vintage, with both Galloni and Suckling awarding it 98-points apiece. There are few more elegant, refined, and ethereal Cabernets produced here, offering so much at release while promising decades of enjoyment. With just 394 cases produced, it’s by far the rarest and most exclusive of them all.

Pure Cabernet cannot be any better than this, reaffirmed by James Suckling who scored it 100pts.

At 170 metres... above sea level, it's the highest elevation point on the valley floor. Wappo Hill was named after the Native American tribe that was prevalent in the area long before California was a state. The Wappos believed in Animism, a spiritual idea that all the elements of the natural environment have a soul. The Moonracer name and label are an oblique reference to the earliest inhabitants of the place Realm now calls home. The Cabernet Sauvignon-based Moonracer is composed of the finest lots from the Estate vineyard. Winemaker Benoit Touquette has much to choose from, as the site, with its multiple blocks, elevations, facings and diverse soils, has character in spades. Moonracer bears the unmistakable mark of this stimulating vineyard as well as the Stags Leap District. The wine is strong and powerful yet elegant, with refined tannins and plenty of depth. It beautifully combines characteristics typical of northern and southern Napa Valley. For the label, Barcelona-based artist Sergio Albiac inserts data taken from weather stations at the Moonracer vineyard, including temperature, wind, and solar radiation, into an algorithm that produces abstract images based on the data. Each vintage of Moonracer is represented by data from that particular year, and each label is unique.
