The key to this magical and dynamic blend is the vineyard sources: in addition to Sugarloaf Mountain and Wildfoote Vineyards, the core of the fruit comes from blocks 5 and 7 in the Tench Vineyard which literally run alongside the fenceline of neighbouring Screaming Eagle – that’s some serious terroir. Russell makes his selection in the cellar, picking single-vineyard barrels that are crying out to be blended together for an earlier drinking, hedonistic, and utterly delicious wine.

The Ontogeny is a true cellar-barrel selection, and is always the last of the cuvées to be blended making each new release highly-anticipated!

Cassis, black olives, tobacco, chocolate, toasted spice, and graphite notes all emerge from the 2017 Ontogeny, a more rounded, plush, sexy wine that nevertheless packs ample muscle, depth, and richness. It’s a beautifully balanced, silky, awesome wine as well as a killer value. [31/01/2020]

    We deliver Monday-Friday and charges are £16 ex-VAT for the majority of UK postcodes (Highlands and Islands will incur additional charges).

    We can also offer next-day delivery for central London addresses if an order is placed before 12:00 the previous day, and also offer same day deliveries at an additional charge.

    Storage and Transfer fees

    We can also arrange deliveries to other storage accounts. Prices vary from £12 ex-VAT (within the London City Bond warehouses) to £16 ex-VAT for delivery to all other storage providers (likes of Octavian).
