The Tench Vineyard surrounds the winery in eastern Oakville at a sweet spot where the valley floor and foothills of the Vaca Mountains collide to form some of the most complex, prized soils in Napa. Sharing a fence line with Screaming Eagle, and counting the like of Dalla Valle Vineyards and BOND’s St. Eden Vineyard as neighbours, Tench has produced an unstoppable string of high scoring wines at the hands of Russell.
For the Tench Vineyard EE Red Wine, the Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend comes from a block which brings more blue and black fruits. The addition of Cabernet Franc adds intensity and structure, and the concentration achieved is phenomenal.
