Legendary winemaker Heidi Barrett and vintner John Schwartz started Amuse Bouche in 2002, taking inspiration from their shared love of the great Châteaux of Pomerol to produce a Napa Merlot of elegance, poise and refinement that would deliver in spades at release while retaining great cellaring potential.

The fruit comes from the secretive Amuse Bouche vineyards, hidden in the foothills of the Vaca Mountains above Napa’s Rutherford AVA. They have the perfect combination of clay, gravel and volcanic soils, giving the Amuse Bouche its unmistakable complexity and structure.

Robert Parker 95+

A blend of 86% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Franc, the medium garnet-purple colored 2016 Proprietary Red Blend Amuse Bouche sings of crushed red and black plums, black cherry compote, Ceylon tea, licorice and Indian spices with a waft of potpourri. The palate is medium to full-bodied, exquisitely elegant with firm yet satiny tannins, refreshing, perfumed, spicy and very long with savory notions coming through. [Lisa Perrotti-Brown, 29/10/2018]

Deliveries are made through London City Bond.

We deliver Monday-Friday and charges are £16 ex-VAT for the majority of UK postcodes (Highlands and Islands will incur additional charges).

We can also offer next-day delivery for central London addresses if an order is placed before 12:00 the previous day, and also offer same day deliveries at an additional charge.

Storage and Transfer fees

We can also arrange deliveries to other storage accounts. Prices vary from £12 ex-VAT (within the London City Bond warehouses) to £16 ex-VAT for delivery to all other storage providers (likes of Octavian).

Vineyard is carved on steep hillsides just above the famed Dominus Estate Napanook parcel that was originally planted in 1838 by Yountville’s founder, George C. Yount. With an ideal eastern exposure, the land is bathed with morning sun and benefits from natural shade in the hot afternoons, and cool breezes from the San Pablo Bay flow constantly across the land. It's located on three volcanic knolls where soil profiles vary from deeply fractured rocks and volcanic ash, to thick clay deposits, meaning each parcel is distinguished by a unique subsoil and microclimate. At just 6.5 hectares in size it's a remarkably small site, yet the incredible complexity of the terroir allows for three distinct wines, each of a singular style. This is an Estate at the top of its game. Combined with the very talented winemaker Graeme MacDonald and owner Claude Blankiet's attention to detail, is truly worthy of an exploration.

Sharing a fence line with Screaming Eagle, and counting the like of Dalla Valle Vineyards and BOND’s St. Eden Vineyard as neighbours, Tench has produced an unstoppable string of high scoring wines at the hands of Russell.   For the Tench Vineyard EE Red Wine, the Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend comes from a block which brings more blue and black fruits. The addition of Cabernet Franc adds intensity and structure, and the concentration achieved is phenomenal.
