It is tempered by cooling breezes funnelled through the Chalk Hill Gap to the north, helping the fruit retain acidity and freshness to balance with the gorgeously intense fruit.

Overlooking the Oakville AVA from the slopes of the Vaca Mountain Range, this site lies on an enviable vein of iron rich volcanic rock, which give the wine its unmistakable refinement and depth.
Winemaker Keith Emerson: "Big fruit and barrel presence with the 21 Verses - 50/50 Oakville Ranch Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc. Black cassis, toasted vanilla, hazelnut, nutmeg, Nutella, flaky croissant, brioche, dried florals, lilac notes on this full-bodied wine. Verses has tremendous weight, velvety tannin profile is an excellent combination of pure fruit, barrel and sense of place. This gorgeous site adds earthy tones of iron, minerality and crushed rock."
