2021 Arista, UV Lucky Well Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley 6x75cl

JD97JS98
Blend: 100% Pinot Noir Vintage production: 653 cases The Lucky Well vineyard sits atop a knoll on the western edge of the Sebastopol hills outside of the towns of Graton and Sebastopol. The area is... home to some of the most highly acclaimed Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards in the Russian River Valley due in large part to the perfect confluence of soil, climate, and elevation. The vineyard is in an area often referred to as the “banana belt” of the Russian River Valley because, though on the very coolest, foggiest, and western edge of the appellation, it sits on a knoll that rises above the fog line. This feature exposes the fruit to more gentle sunlight, which allows very slow and even ripening across the entire growing season. Arista's 4-acre section was planted in 2008 to Pommard, Swan, and Calera clones of Pinot Noir.

2020 Dragonette, Rita’s Crown Vineyard Chardonnay, Sta. Rita Hills 1x75cl

JD95JS95VM96
Blend: 100% Chardonnay Vintage Production: 235 cases One of the producers at the forefront of Sta. Rita's Hills' success is Dragonette Cellars. Winemaker Brandon Sparks-Gills, and brothers Steve and... John Dragonette, select the region's elite vineyards to make Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays of utter refinement and distinction. Rita’s Crown vineyard is located at one of the highest points in the Sta. Rita Hills, adjacent to such famous sites as Mt Carmel and Sea Smoke. The soils are a mix of sandy and clay loams with a good amount of diatomaceous earth. Dragonette's Chardonnay comes from two parcels: block 16, (clone 76) lies at 800-950 feet on a steep, west-southwest facing hillside above the monastery, and block 12 (clone 95), a steep south facing hillside just below and to the west. These higher elevation blocks are exposed to fog and clouds most mornings and high winds most afternoons, cooling the vineyard. The climate and the low vigour soils produce a small canopy, small yields and a long, slow growing season. The wines here typically show beautiful, ripe tropical fruit flavours, balanced by remarkable acidity and strong notes of chalky minerals.

2021 Linne Calodo, Contrarian, Paso Robles 12x75cl

RP94VM94
Blend: 48% Grenache Blanc, 38% Viognier, 14% Picpoul Blanc Vintage production: n/a In the words of winemaker, Matt Trevisan: “Once upon a time, I swore I would never make a white wine—I didn’t... have the equipment or the inclination. But after several warm summers in Paso Robles, I came up with the idea for Contrarian, a wine that could go toe-to-toe with any type of day. The result is a crisp, refreshing white that still delivers the gravitas you expect from any Linne Calodo offering. Life is a contradiction—and so is this wine."
